Why Our Products?
Did you know that according to Johnson & Johnson, 552 million shampoo bottles end up in landfills in the United States every year. If you add conditioner bottles to the mix, we end up with 1.1 billion bottles in landfill. Switching to a shampoo and conditioning bar can drastically reduce our consumption of single use plastic. How many other personal care items we use that add to this waste. Even body bars use packaging that is not environmentally friendly because of wax coated packaging.
Our goal is to not only provide excellent Natural Ingredient Homemade Hair, Skin and Face care products but also reduce our carbon footprint. All our products are made with all organic and environmentally safe ingredients. The oils and butters used include Olive, Canola, Castor, Apricot, Sweet Almond, Shea and Cocoa Butter. Ingredients used are determined by the product and self-designed recipes. Additional ingredients may include Citric Acid, Vitamin E, Beeswax, Silk Cocoons, Natural Micas (coloring), and pure essence oils. Some Specialty soaps will include other ingredients like real fruit/vegetable purees, goat milk, and tallow. All soaps are SLS/SLES free and no Palm Oil.
How are they made?
We use the cold press process. As the name suggests, the main difference between cold process vs hot process soap is that hot process soap is made at higher temperatures than cold process soap. Cold process soap is made at relatively low temperatures (usually 30-50°C)
Why is Cold Press process Used?
ingredients making it gentler on the skin compared to commercial soap. The natural ingredients provide nourishing benefits to the skin, leaving it feeling hydrated and refreshed.
What are the benefits of cold process soap?
Besides the use of Natural ingredients, cold process is chemical-free, long-lasting, customizable, and environmentally friendly.
Chemical-free: Commercial soap often contains harsh chemicals such as sodium lauryl sulfate, which can dry out and irritate the skin. Cold process soap is free from these harmful chemicals, making it a safer and more natural option.
Long-lasting: Cold process soap is made through a slow curing process (4-6 weeks), which results in a harder, longer-lasting bar of soap compared to commercial soap. Not only is this more economical, but it also means you'll be producing less waste by using less soap over time.
Customizable: Handmade soap can be customized to suit your specific skin type and preferences, with the option to add natural ingredients like essential oils and herbs for added benefits. Whether you have dry, oily, or sensitive skin, you can find a cold process soap that's right for you.
Environmentally friendly: Cold process soap is made in small batches and doesn't contain harmful chemicals, making it a more environmentally friendly option compared to commercial soap.
Our Packaging?
We use 100% Biodegradable cellophane in all our wrappings. Cellophane is derived from natural sources such as wood, while plastic wrap is made from oil. Unlike plastic, cellophane can't be recycled, but it is biodegradable, so it can be composted or sent to a landfill in the regular garbage.
